Caldera Interactive is seeking a part-time Community Manager to help manage, grow, and deepen engagement within our online communities for The Rabbit Haul, a cozy tower defense and farming game that is currently in development.
We’re looking for someone who is fluent in game culture and social media, and who is proactive, creative, and self-sufficient. This is a flexible remote role, perfect for someone who thrives in independent environments, loves games, and knows how to make a community feel like home. The candidate must be legally allowed to work in Canada.
About us
We’re a small indie studio working on our first commercial title. Our team has been doing a lot with very little since we started in 2022, and we are still learning as we go. This is a great opportunity for someone who can show us the ropes on the community and social media side of things and is excited to iterate on new ideas to help shape the community of a cool new game.

What You'll Do
- Grow and nurture our existing Discord server and help us reach new players through regular and creative community engagement initiatives
- Plan and host periodic playtests of the game on Discord, including announcing playtest periods, distributing game keys, and driving player engagement during playtests
- Gather, organize, and distill feedback from playtesters into actionable items for the development team
- Work with the team to create and publish social media content, including images, graphics, short-form video, memes, and written posts to grow the number of new playtesters that join our Discord community
- Help organize, set up and run our booth at in-person events such as conventions and showcases, and develop fun, community-focused activities to engage attendees
- Moderate our communities and help keep our spaces safe, welcoming, and inclusive
- Run regular community engagement activities like AMAs, giveaways, or livestreams
- Help write our monthly newsletter with community highlights and patch notes
You Might be a Fit if You
- Have experience managing communities for games (shipped or in development) or similar projects
- Understand what motivates and excites different types of players, and how to speak to them
- Are comfortable working independently and proactively, especially in a small, remote team setting
- Have strong instincts for platform tone and voice, and enjoy writing copy and organizing engaging online events
- Love video games, gaming communities and/or game development

What we Offer
- Flexible part-time hours (approx. 10-15 hrs/week)
- $25-$35 CAD/hour depending on experience
